Victorias City Commemorates 114th Independence Day


The City of Victorias joined the entire country in the celebration of 114th Philippine Independence with a short commemorating program at the City Public Plaza last June 12.
    The theme for this year is “Kalayaan, Pananagutan ng Bayan para sa Tuwid na Daan”.
    The government officials, Association of Barangay Captains, national offices, departments, DepEd family, different NGOs and students attended the event.
    Councilor Mark Palanca opened with a message emphasizing on the true meaning of the celebration which is anchored in unity and freedom of the Filipinos.
    Mr. Sulpicio Montinola Jr. on the other hand delivered the message for and on behalf of Cong. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, which dealt with the freedom achieved through the countless sacrifices that goes down to the rich and colorful history of the country.
    Mayor Severo Palanca lauded everyone for commemorating the special holiday while Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca was glad that the city made the effort to celebrate the country’s independence amidst the existing struggles faced by the Filipinos.
    After the entrance of colors, the flag was raised while singing the  Philippine National Anthem.
    Simultaneous with the floral or wreath offering at the foot of the flag pole by the participating sectors, was the special song number of Jemaimah Taladico which marked the activity.

26 Trainees Of 3rd Batch Therapeutic Massage Training Finish Program Under WPP

Twenty six trainees of the 3rd batch of Therapeutic Massage Training sponsored by Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) culminated their program at Marjhun’s Restaurant last June 1.
    They had undergone the training from Feb. 24 to May 12 under TESDA Massage Therapy Trainer Susan Gomez.
    Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca said that the trainees and those who were part of the program inspired him so much.
    He was pleased that this program continues to touch lives, provide chances and open many opportunities for the people of Victorias.
    TESDA – RTC Chief Joel Villagracia of TESDA Talisay was represented by Jurinda Gamao, who was the guest speaker.
     Gamao was grateful for the implementation of the Therapy Massage Training.
    She shared the advantages of having the skills as she also congratulated the 3rd batch.
    The presentation and acceptance of the trainees and distribution of certificates along with Vice Mayor Palanca, Councilor Audie Malaga, Gomez, Gamao was done to officially mark the culmination of the training program.
     Participants, Jerson Labansa, Margie Santillan and Sharry Vile Lee were very thankful that they have been part of the program and couldn’t help but be emotional as they shared their testimonies.
