Vice Mayor Implements Wellness Program For Progress For 2011

WPP Team conducts seminar on meat processing that will additional livelihood opportunities for Victoriahanons


Vice Mayor Wantan Palanca together with the city government of Victorias has set and implemented Wellness Program for Progress (WPP) to cater the basic needs of the residents of Victorias.

“Ang programa sang WPP, ginatinguhaan nga tanan kita nga Victoriahanon makaangkon sang mayo nga health / housing, obra, pagkaon, kag edukasyon”, Vice Mayor Palanca said.

The vice mayor reiterated the acronym “HOPE” which stands for “Health / Housing, Obra, Pagkaon, Edukasyon”, as the needs that the WPP will address for the benefit o the people of the city.

The WPP team has conducted free flu vaccination to 3,600 beneficiaries last Feb. 8 and a feeding program to preschoolers and children in all barangays last Feb. 15.

Training on meat processing, massage and haircut and vegetarian lecture, were conducted at the Victorias City’s Livelihood and Training Center last March 8 – 12.

Furthermore, medical and dental missions which include consultation, minor surgery (removal of cyst), circumcision, cataract screening , as well as feeding, haircut and distribution of eyeglasses and slippers were held at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center last March 12.

A total of 4,758 beneficiaries availed the services of Wellness Program Progress for that day, based on the report of city’s Nutritional Staff Deolita Suarez.

This coming May, the PRC Professional License Processing and Renewal will take place and details will be given out after everything has been finalized.
