City Conducts Orientation To 3rd Batch Livelihood Program Beneficiaries


An orientation to this year’s 3rd batch beneficiaries of the City’s livelihood program composed of the marginalized sectors in the community was held at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center last Dec. 3.
This endeavor was made possible through the efforts of Mayor Severo Palanca, Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca and the Sangguniang Panlungsod members with the Committee of Agriculture and Fisheries Chairman, Councilor Andrei Garcia in collaboration with the Department Of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
About 200 priority beneficiaries of the program were the differently-abled, small fisher folks, marginal vendors, rural women, parents of children laborers, urban poor, and youth aged 15-30 among others.
The resource speaker from DOLE was Fred Santiso who shared his knowledge on the agency’s livelihood project to the participants including the success stories of the organization’s partner beneficiaries.
He also covered topics on livelihood categories such as livelihood formation, enhancement and restoration.
The participants were encouraged to submit a project proposal in order for the program to be successfully implemented.
