The Victorias City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology received the Red Orchid Award given by the Department of Health in Sarabia Manor, Iloilo City last July 1.
The Red Orchid
Award is the Search for 100% Tobacco-Free Provinces, Municipalities, Cities and
Government Agencies in the Philippines.
The national award
attained by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Victorias is thru the
efforts of Jail Warden Ronnie Marcelo assisted by Jail Nurse Dan John Espinosa.
This is in
collaboration with the City Health Office headed by Administrative Officer and
Health Education and Promotion Officer April Golda Acuña and
Tobacco Prevention and Control Coordinator Chitalisa Valenciano.
It is the highest
recognition granted by DOH, followed by pink for second place and white for
third place.
This is open to
all LGUs and other government offices and hospitals all over the country.
