CARP Beneficiaries taking oath |
Ninety-three beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), who are residents of Hda. Felicia, Brgy. VIII in Victorias City, took their oath at the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC), Victorias last May 23.
Presiding Judge Hon. Evelyn Arsenio of the MTCC, Victorias led the oath taking of the beneficiaries as they were also given the Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA).
This program is under the Republic Act No. 6657 or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law (CARL) of 1988.
Each beneficiary will be given three hectares and alongside obliged to pay the land taxes and the amortization of the property in accordance with the CARL provisions.
The land which is a lien by way of mortgage of the Land Bank of the Philippines, was owned by Jesusa De Filippo, et. al. with a total land area of almost 157 hectares.
As stipulated in the sworn oath, the beneficiaries promised to make the land as productive as possible and shall comply with all the agrarian laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the acquisition and distribution of the land applied for.
