Alyssa Louise Erika Jimenea Is New Kadalag–an Queen 2014

Kadalag-an Queen (KQ), the sweetest and biggest beauty event, now on its 16th year has crowned Alyssa Louise Erika Jimenea during the pageant and coronation night at the Victorias City Public Plaza last March 19.
KQ adopts a star-studded Hollywood Oscars theme this year with celebrity guest Xian Lim who serenaded the candidates and entertained the Madlang Victroriahanon with his songs.
KQ royalty Yssa is a 20 year-old senior Hospitality Management student of La Consolacion College Bacolod and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kay and Ma. Belle Jimenea.
“The victory is not mine but I share it with God, my family and the people of Victorias City. I will forever cherish that occasion as one of the most memorable moments in my life and I will wear the crown with dignity, nobleness and utmost humility. ”, Yssa said.
She was sponsored by VRESCO and Adrian Merchandise and bagged special awards such as Best in Production Number, Best in Evening Gown, Ms. Photogenic, and Ms. Congeniality.
KQ first runner-up is Chloe Nartatez who also won the Best in Talent and Best in Swimwear while Rochelle Gatilogo is second runner-up.
The prizes were P50,000.00 for the queen and P30,000.00 and P20,000.00 for the first and second runners-up, respectively.
The judges were beauty pageant connoisseurs Yryne Valenzuela, Liza Balagosa Padilla, Direk Archie Dema-ala, Jan Nicole Puentevella and Alex Soncio.

KQ was hosted by Manila’s seasoned host and model Steve Patrick Moore along with Kadalag-an Queen 2011 and Lin-ay Sang Negros 2012 First Runner-up Jemaimah Taladico.
Other candidates were Doreen Buenaflor, Christine Gulmatico, Marilie Rose Espino, Faith Joy Pabalate, Rica Despi, Kimberly Biaco, Jane Claire Batadhay, Odessa Cabarles.
The pageant was produced by the City Government of Victorias with the KQ pageant committee headed by Joy Famini, Leo Vision official multi-media service provider and line-producer Gary Lake Liza and Pageant Director Edu Pillora.

Kadalag-an Festival Successful, Sweet @16

Victorias is sugar and Kadalag-an Festival, the sweetest celebration in Negros Occidental, is now on its 16th year and is even better and filled with more life and color last March 17-22.
This year’s theme, “Hugpong, Hugyaw, Victoriahanon!” was marked with a week-long merry-making involving different government, business and private sectors in the City.
Last March 17, the festival, commenced with a grand float parade followed by the Brgy. Kapamilya in the afternoon, Tingug Sang Kadalag-an 2014 Grand Finals and Pop Dance Showdown in the evening.
The second day, sponsored by the Sangguniang Panlungsod and the Vice Mayor’s Office, was filled with different activities such as the Zumba in the early morning, Ducati Road Show simultaneous with the GSIS Retirees and Pensioners Assembly, and Volkswagen Car Show and Parade.
In the evening of the same day, the Kadalag-an Queen Talent Night showcased the 11 Victoriahanon ladies’ skills and wit after which was the sound-off at the streets.
Last March 19, the DepEd hosted the Drum & Bugle Presentation and a show at the Victorias City Public Plaza.
The Kadalag-an Queen Coronation Night with Xian Lim at the Victorias City Public Plaza took place and has gathered young beauties of Victorias in a star-studded Oscars-themed pageant promoting health and wellness.
                During Cong. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez’ Day, a Pagka-on kag Pahampang sa Plaza and Pa Bingo Party followed by the Top Tax Payer’s Awards Night and Cong. Albee’s Celebrity Night featuring acts and performances from Manila last March 20.

                Last March 21, on of the highlights of the festivity was the Diana in the morning, Employees’ Day and Float Parade with Kadalag-an Queen 2014 Winners,  “Talentadong TODA Driver” FEVATDO in the afternoon.

The night was filled with music by front acts Bare Foot Band and Quinta Band and the City was rocked by Kamikazee Celebrity Band Concert.

                On March 22, a Diana also took place in the morning along with the Victorias Fun Run For A Cause with Daniel Matsunaga, Victorias Kadalag-an Golf Tournament, 1st Mayor Wantan Palanca Shootfest Competition, Barangay Street Dancing w/ live drum beaters, Festival Costume (LGBT), and “Reggae” Sadsad Street Party w/ Live Drum Beaters plus free face and body painting.

It was followed by a comedy show featuring “Pepay Aguilar and Negi” and KATO KAMOS Band in the evening.

                Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca was really thankful for the cooperation of everyone and for the best effort of those involved has exerted in order to come up with a fun, successful and peaceful festival.


GSIS Advisory 2014

In line with the implementation of the GSIS Scholarship Program (GSP) for Academic Year 2014-2015, may we invite all GSIS members under your respective offices to participate by submitting their nominees during the application period scheduled from April 23, 2014 to May 30, 2014.

Under the revised GSP Policy and Procedural Guidelines (PPG) No. 253-14, all active GSIS members with premium payments for the last six (6) months may nominate scholars, provided that:

a.            They are permanent employees in the government, who are regular GSIS members at the time of application, with at least three (3) years of service;

b.            They are at SG 24 or below or its equivalent job level; and

c.            They have incoming college freshmen-dependents who are accepted in any 4- or 5-year course or in priority courses identified by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) with its own charter or a school qualified by the CHED as Levels IV and III, Autonomous or Deregulated.

Victorias Farmers Receives 100 Native Chickens From Department Of Agriculture Region 6

Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca has turned-over 100 heads of native chicken pullets to 20 upland farmers last March 14.
         The native chicken came from the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Unit 6 (DA-RFU 6) as their Community Participatory Action Research (CPAR) Project.
            The special guests during the occasion were representatives from DA-RFU 6 Florencio Benedicto and Lorenzo Palada, who also witnessed the simple turn-over ceremony at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center.  
            The recipients of native chicken were farmers from Brgy. X (upper Hacienda Mimi and Sicaba areas) and Brgy. XI (Gawahon and Hacienda Buncio areas). 
         The native chickens will serve as initial stocks for the development of local and organic poultry industry of the City. 
            The project is in consonance with the present administration’s thrust of making Victorias City an organic hub, the producer of naturally-grown and chemical-free products in Northern Negros.     

Victorias City Organizes Protocol Seminar


Victorias City sponsored a protocol seminar at the L’ Fisher Chalet, Bacolod City last Feb. 27-28.
The two-day seminar, in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), was attended by the Victorias City department heads, employees, businessmen and other stakeholders. 
Victorias City is the first LGU in the country ever to organize a protocol seminar.
 Chief of Protocol Wilfredo Cuyugan and protocol officers Joel Marinas, Bruce Alvin Borres were the resource persons of the seminar.
Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca was very thankful to the speakers and guests giving their valuable time and support to provide Victorias with a global character through the practice of proper protocol.
Ambassador Cuyugan was impressed with Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca’s vision for globalization making Victorias part of the international community.

The participants had several simulations during every session which helped them apply what they have learned from each talk.
It was followed by the assessment test for the participants and discussion of the result of the test.
