Kadalag-an Queen
(KQ), the sweetest and biggest beauty event, now on its 16th year
has crowned Alyssa Louise Erika Jimenea during the pageant and coronation night
at the Victorias City Public Plaza last March 19.
KQ adopts a
star-studded Hollywood Oscars theme this year with celebrity guest Xian Lim who
serenaded the candidates and entertained the Madlang Victroriahanon with his
songs.
KQ royalty Yssa is
a 20 year-old senior Hospitality Management student of La Consolacion College
Bacolod and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kay and Ma. Belle Jimenea.
“The victory is
not mine but I share it with God, my family and the people of Victorias City. I
will forever cherish that occasion as one of the most memorable moments in my
life and I will wear the crown with dignity, nobleness and utmost humility. ”,
Yssa said.
She was sponsored
by VRESCO and Adrian Merchandise and bagged special awards such as Best in
Production Number, Best in Evening Gown, Ms. Photogenic, and Ms. Congeniality.
KQ first runner-up
is Chloe Nartatez who also won the Best in Talent and Best in Swimwear while Rochelle
Gatilogo is second runner-up.
The prizes were
P50,000.00 for the queen and P30,000.00 and P20,000.00 for the first and second
runners-up, respectively.
The
judges were beauty pageant connoisseurs Yryne Valenzuela, Liza Balagosa Padilla,
Direk Archie Dema-ala, Jan Nicole Puentevella and Alex
Soncio.
KQ was hosted by
Manila’s seasoned host and model Steve Patrick Moore along with Kadalag-an
Queen 2011 and Lin-ay Sang Negros 2012 First Runner-up Jemaimah Taladico.
Other candidates
were Doreen Buenaflor, Christine Gulmatico, Marilie Rose Espino, Faith Joy
Pabalate, Rica Despi, Kimberly Biaco, Jane Claire Batadhay, Odessa Cabarles.
The pageant was
produced by the City Government of Victorias with the KQ pageant committee
headed by Joy Famini, Leo Vision official multi-media service provider and
line-producer Gary Lake Liza and Pageant Director Edu Pillora.
