Victorias City Organizes Protocol Seminar


Victorias City sponsored a protocol seminar at the L’ Fisher Chalet, Bacolod City last Feb. 27-28.
The two-day seminar, in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), was attended by the Victorias City department heads, employees, businessmen and other stakeholders. 
Victorias City is the first LGU in the country ever to organize a protocol seminar.
 Chief of Protocol Wilfredo Cuyugan and protocol officers Joel Marinas, Bruce Alvin Borres were the resource persons of the seminar.
Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca was very thankful to the speakers and guests giving their valuable time and support to provide Victorias with a global character through the practice of proper protocol.
Ambassador Cuyugan was impressed with Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca’s vision for globalization making Victorias part of the international community.
Topics taken up Protocol; Order of Precedence; Form of Addresses/Titles; Etiquette in Introduction; Ceremonial Activities; Precedence in Practices; Important Ceremonial Functions; Courtesy Calls; Signing of Agreements; Ribbon Cutting; Awarding Ceremonies; Press Conference; Oath-taking; Ground Breaking; Unveiling; Necrological services and others.
Protocol of the Flag; Coat of Arms; National Motto; and other Heraldic Items and Devices of the Philippines; Hosting Official/Social Functions; Official Entertaining; Receiving Line; Table Setting; Menu; Seating Arrangement; Toasts; Table Manner; Practical Etiquette; Examples of Protocol Practices in other countries were also discussed.
The participants had several simulations during every session which helped them apply what they have learned from each talk.
It was followed by the assessment test for the participants and discussion of the result of the test.
