City Inaugurates Victorias National High School Canetown Extension
The Victorias National High School (VNHS) Canetown Ext. school building was inaugurated last Dec. 6.
The one unit two-classroom building in Brgy. XIX-A was donated by Mr. Dy Pue Le under the “Operation Barrio School” project of the Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. and Southern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) through the effort of Mr. John Yap, Board of Director FFCCCII and in collaboration with the City of Victorias.
The blessing of the building was done by Rev. Fr. Joemar Bacucang followed by the signing of the deed of donation of the benefactors, and ribbon-cutting led by Vice Gov. Genaro Alvarez, Jr., Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, VNHS Canetown Ext. Principal Rey Fama along with the FFCCCII board of directors.
City and barangay officials, members of the Canetown Home Owners Association, teachers and students and guests witnessed the inauguration.
The symbolic turn over of the key, unveiling of the building’s marker and awarding of the plaque of appreciation to the stakeholders were done du-ring the short program.
The project will help in provi-ding quality education to the youth of the City and make learning more conducive to them.
