In
honor of Patron Saint Nuestra Señora de la
Victoria, Daan Banwa, Brgy. IX celebrated its third Hinugyaw sa Malihaw Festival last April 26.
This
festival commemorates the City’s rich history and the great lady who saved the
town and the first settlement from marauders.
Mayor Francis
Frederick Palanca joined the celebration of the people of Daan Banwa.
The activity commenced
with a fluvial parade from Daan Banwa to Brgy VI-A Port and back and was followed
by various special numbers of the residents including the Asosasyon sang mga
Tigulang sa Daan Banwa or the “ASTIG” of Brgy. IX.
An exciting tableau
or re-enactment of the City’s history was done by the youth of the barangay.
Brgy.
Capt. Juvy Pepello, the barangay officials and residents joined hands as they
sang the community song, “If We Hold On Together”.
