The City
Government of Victorias in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection,
Victorias City Fire Station sponsored a Seminar on Fire Prevention and Safety
at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts
and Cultural Center last April 28.
The orientation was headed by
Acting City Fire Marshal Insp. Sidgie Gerardo with guest speakers FO1 Sauro
Baylon, FO1 Joery Moquete, FO1 Stephen Pedrajas, and FO1 Glenn Buanghog.
Their lectures covered the BFP
Mission and Vision; BFP Legal Mandate; Chemistry of Fire; Fire Prevention; Fire
Suppression Techniques; Concept on Fire Exit/Evacuation Drill and Formation of
Fire Brigade.
Insp. Gerardo believes that
information and education is very crucial in the prevention of dreaded fire
incidents in the community and that each of us can be fire wardens of our own
household.
A
fire drill at the Victorias City Hall participated by the City officials,
department heads, employees and clients, was conducted the day after the
lecture.
