PPO Successfully Accomplishes Activities for 2nd Quarter

April 2014
A two-day VPA (Volunteer Probation Aide) Basic and Enhancement Training for newly recruited volunteers was conducted at the DOLE Building, Bacolod City last April 29-30. Didith Belicano of Brgy. XIX, Menchie Ba-at of Brgy. IX and Lolita Amion of Brgy. XIX-A, representatives of the Victorias City Parole and Probation Office, completed the training. The lectures were anchored on the VPA’s roles and basic learning on PD 968 known as the Adult Probation. During the second day, enhancement training on interviewing skills and team-building activities comprised the course.

May 2014
                Last May 20-23, 2014 the officer and staff of Victorias City PPO attended the 24th PPOLPI National Convention and 12th Training Institute at Plaza del Norte and Convention Center, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. The four-day convention enabled the participants to learn new ideas during the training and explore the heritage village of Vigan, Ilocos Sur and amazing spots in Ilocos Norte.

June 2014
                Thirty clients attended the Closing Ritual of the Therapeutic Community Ladderized Program (TCLP) for probationers and pardonees was conducted at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center last June 4. On June 16, closing program of the TCLP – Phase 1 and Phase 2 was held with the presence of Regional Director Charito Zamora of the Parole and Probation Administration Region 6. An inspiring message was delivered by Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant Dino Acuna on behalf of Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, whose interpretation and words of wisdom from the TC’s Unwritten Philosophy really shed light to the clients.  Audie Malaga of the Barangay Affairs was also present during the activity. VPAs Edna Durana, Abdulio Dequit, Sherlita Manong, Lydia Hiavia, Roy Claveras, Lolita Amion, Sharon Amion, Annabelle Amion, Erly Braña, Rodelyn Silab and Cristina Beraye helped in the preparation and facilitated in the implementation of the program.
